I think if there was a script writer that worked WITH H3H3 I thought their inclusion would be nice. I just think that it was a bit of a let down that the devs did not attempt to work completely with H3H3 as they did their voice lines. I know I dont have the answers and the devs always have to be careful in what they do. But back to Ethan, I think it could have been handled better. I think the devs had fun writing him and the Voice Actor did as well. My favorite being that Bohdi calls the Cloakers ninjas.
As much as some hated Bohdi, I like how his surfer bro lines make him stand out in killing some of the Special enemies. I just wished that Ethan would have lines that could be both his blend of humor than just being a bit bland. (I think I stand in the minority that I like Bonnie more than the other ladies because she doesnt shout until her voice cracks.) Gila is quiet and I dont think her shouting her head off like Clover and Sydney would make a huge difference. I think Gila is better overall since characters with thick accents and something I can look past. I know that Ethan is the one that does it more than Gila. It makes it apparent that the devs did not think it out as much. Its like Borderlands 2 once you get past the memes. (I know that Clover mentions the Walking Dead but she doenst blast the audience of references to it).
I dont like it when Ethan mentions modern day trends and memes because in about 1 or 2 years will horribly date the game. I just think that the two would have benefitted more if they were given characters than expect to play themselves. I am glad the devs did not make them generic like Clover and Sokol. I am not attempting to hate Ethan and Gila its just that their voice lines are some of the non appealing in the game.
